19 March 2026
St. Martin’s Centre is gearing up for one of the biggest dates in the music calendar as Record Store Day comes back to Pop Classics on Saturday 18 April 2026. The annual celebration always draws huge crowds, and last year saw devoted vinyl fans queuing from 11pm the night before, with hundreds of shoppers travelling in from miles around.
Record Store Day is widely recognised as one of the most exciting events for music lovers, shining a spotlight on independent record shops and the community that surrounds them. Highlights of the day include a celebration of vinyl culture, packed with exclusive releases, limited editions, special pressings, picture discs and rare reissues.
Doors will open at 8am, and visitors can expect an extensive range of Record Store Day exclusives, from global superstars like Taylor Swift to legendary acts including Pink Floyd, along with many more one‑day‑only titles. These limited official releases form a major part of the excitement, offering collectors and casual listeners alike the chance to discover something truly special.
The event has become a highlight in the centre, made even more enjoyable by Pop Classics’ growing reputation as a hub for local music culture since opening its first physical shop in 2023. The store is stocked daily with new and used vinyl and is run by a knowledgeable team who have helped make it a focal point for music fans across Caversham.
In the run‑up to the event, customers are welcome to share their wish lists to help guide which titles make it onto the shelves, though availability will always depend on the limited nature of Record Store Day releases.
Whether you’re hoping to secure a rare collector’s item, broaden your musical horizons, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere, this year’s Record Store Day promises to be another unforgettable celebration at St. Martin’s Centre.
